Milky Way Morning
One autumn morning,
an unremarkable star
rises upon an insignificant planet
spinning its way through billions
of neighborhood stars.
Within this Milky Way suburb brimming
with brilliance–
globular clusters
supernovas
pulsars–
this particular planet
is the only one we know
to boast
trees
which redden;
blush.
